CHATTANOOGA, TENN. – May 12, 2026 – Kenco, a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider, announced the International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA) awarded Chief Administrative Officer Scott Mayfield with its Jock Menzies Distinguished Service & Leadership Award. Mayfield was honored for going above and beyond to serve the entire industry during his career.

Mayfield, who guided IWLA through a time of change as Board Chair from 2022-2023 and also served for several years at the association’s committee level, joined a 50+ year tradition of Kenco executives contributing to IWLA. Kenco co-founder Jim Kennedy, Jr., his son and former chairman Jim Kennedy III, and Mayfield’s father and former Kenco CEO, Gary Mayfield – also a recipient of the Distinguished Service & Leadership Award – have all held IWLA leadership roles.

IWLA Chairman Daryl Lester, Director of Logistics Operations at Kenco, presented Mayfield with the award during the association’s annual conference this past March in San Antonio.

“During my time on the executive committee, I saw Scott’s dedication to guiding the association and collaborating with the logistics community to position IWLA for ongoing success,” Lester said. “He helped the organization secure a new president and onboard a new firm to lead IWLA advocacy in Washington. Above all, he’s a phenomenal mentor and leader. The award is well deserved.”

The Jock Menzies Distinguished Service & Leadership Award, named for the late logistics pioneer and founder of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), is presented annually to an individual who went above and beyond the call to serve the entire industry.

“I’m humbled to be chosen as this year’s IWLA recipient, and it was also special to receive the award from a Kenco peer,” said Mayfield. “The IWLA is integral to provide best practices learning and networking opportunities to support the needs of logistics-focused firms.  Having the opportunity to give back alongside colleagues such as Daryl is a great honor.”

The IWLA has been a key trade organization for logistics professionals dating back more than 150 years, representing the needs of member companies ranging from single-city warehouses to international businesses. For more information about the IWLA, visit https://iwla.com/.
