IN THE PAST YEAR, KENCO HAS SEEN REMARKABLE GROWTH DESPITE THE PANDEMIC-DRIVEN HARDSHIPS AFFECTING THE GLOBE.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —August 3, 2021— Kenco Logistics, North America’s leading third-party logistics provider, announced the company’s recognition as the third ranked 3PL in Inbound Logistics’ 2021 Top 10 3PL Excellence Awards. Inbound Logistics determines rankings by surveying subscribers to identify industry leaders based on criteria including scope of capabilities and service performance.
Kenco has been included as a Top 10 3PL for the past nine years, maintaining their number three spot that was attained last year.
“During an unprecedented year, our clients overwhelmingly acknowledged Kenco’s ability to quickly adapt to change, whether that was sudden shifts in consumer demand, the need for new safety measures, or creative approaches to a difficult labor market. We have always touted our agility and customer service, but 2020 was the year we really proved that Kenco walks the talk,” said Denis Reilly, President and CEO, Kenco Logistics.
As a domestic 3PL, Kenco is often the final link in the supply chain, which means agility is essential. By increasing investments into innovative automation and technology solutions to relieve labor, space, and freight capacity constraints, Kenco’s customer service levels continue to be high.
“The single greatest challenge right now is the labor market, where it is increasingly difficult to attract employees,” said Reilly, “That’s why we’re doubling down on our investment in innovative labor solutions. For instance, in 2020 we co-invested with one of our Fortune 500 clients to implement an automated storage and retrieval system that significantly reduces their dependence on labor as well as their footprint. We are also the first North American 3PL partnering with Phantom Auto to use its remotely operated forklift solution, expanding the labor pool by removing geographic restrictions to hiring.”
Kenco’s culture of innovation leads to the introduction of solutions designed to digitize the supply chain for deeper visibility which can help mitigate some of the ripple effects caused by the pandemic.
Released this past January, Kenco FleetCloud™, a proprietary telematics solution, automates material handling equipment service processes and monitors equipment performance to drive efficiency, safety, and compliance.
“We must seize every opportunity to make the supply chain as lean as possible,” said Reilly. “Our solutions make customers aware of wasted miles and unnecessary man-hours while addressing safety issues so these can be removed from their operations, saving them both time and money.”
In the past year, Kenco has seen remarkable growth despite the pandemic-driven hardships affecting the globe. This includes opening a new 397,000 square foot multi-client warehouse in Perris, CA, which allows organizations to share labor and space in this tight market. They are also building a refrigerated space in Utah for a Swedish sustainable food company. Kenco will staff and manage the facility and utilize Kenco’s business intelligence tool, UNIFY, to provide key business data allowing them to accurately plan and manage the location’s distribution to limit their carbon footprint.
Any company partnering with Kenco will gain access to their full suite of customizable services and solutions, including real estate, project management, warehousing distribution services, robotic floor scrubbers, and material handling equipment (MHE) services.
