CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —August 28, 2019— Kenco Logistics, North America’s leading third-party logistics provider, today announced the company’s recognition by Inbound Logistics amongst this years’ 75 Green Supply Chain Partners (G75). The magazine recognizes 75 companies that demonstrate the highest levels of commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility in their operations.

Kenco has been recognized for the company’s green initiatives like measuring and reducing greenhouse emissions, using alternative energy sources and investing in solar energy and energy-efficient lighting. Through its sustainability efforts, Kenco aims to assist customers in achieving environmental responsibility.

“We are honored to once again be named a Green Supply Chain Partner and recognized for our efforts in sustainability,” said Denis Reilly, President and CEO, Kenco Logistics. “We are actively focused on implementing green initiatives to become more sustainable and help our customers operate environmentally conscious supply chains.”

As part of ongoing sustainability efforts, Kenco is developing a best-in-class warehousing carbon footprint calculator, utilizing hybrid automobiles in its company fleet and leveraging material handling solutions with green power, regenerative braking and automatic battery chargers. Kenco is also offsetting conventional electric power consumption by installing solar panels and investing in alternative fuel R&D. Through network, transportation and warehousing optimization, Kenco is reducing travel distances, associated fuel usage and labor redundancy waste. Additionally, the company trains drivers regarding progressive shifting techniques while using all-electric auxiliary power units (APUs) to reduce idle time and fuel consumption.

“Each year, Inbound Logistics recognizes the top 75 3PLs for their efforts in sustainability,” said Felecia Stratton, editor, Inbound Logistics. “Our editors have determined the 2019 honorees are truly making a conscious effort when it comes to commitment to supply chain sustainability.
